10:29 pm: TV or not to TV, that is the question...
Is it bad to be spending the night rotting your brain away on mind-numbing television?

Or is it a good distraction from having spent the day gardening and breathing in topsoil and weeds?

08:39 pm: Vacation!
So, I'm going to keep this post short and sweet...
I'm on vacation in Kentucky right now... in Louisville, which is actually quite nice. Thunder over Louisville is this weekend, which is the first of many big events that lead up to Derby weekend, taking place in two weeks.
Other than that, I've been really busy getting my aunt's new house together. We've been moving stuff out of the old house a little at a time, in order to stage her house now for a potential new renter (the house she's in now is a rental; she just bought a new house). Hopefully, the person viewing the house tomorrow will like the place so she can get out of her lease early, thereby not having to pay a mortgage AND rent! Cross your fingers and wish us luck!
I'll report back more later...

11:59 am: Grrrr...
Okay, I have to admit, Scap and I are even...

He stole my keys yesterday afternoon and moved my car to the far side of the parking lot...

He could have done worse (like stolen the candy in the car, moved the seats, and switched the radio presets), but still, pretty good...

Now for my payback... ~plots evilly~

07:37 am: Museum exhibit opens today!
Hey everyone! Just wanted to invite anyone in the area to stop down to the Southampton Historical Museum today between 2 and 4PM for the opening of the annual student curated exhibit. This year, students looked into the past and created work about World War I (my students at OLH), and the Roaring 20's (Southampton Intermediate School). Come on down and see all their hard work! Refreshments will be served. Hope to see you there!

08:02 am: Stressing
Here I am... posting when I should be grading papers...

Well, I'm in the thick of research project season and coming to the home stretch of the 8th grade project... March 28 is the day their work will be displayed at the Southampton Historical Museum for the opening of their annual student exhibit. I'm super nervous since I don't know how this is all going to come out. I've never done a museum exhibit before. It's an enormous amount of work and the kids have worked their tails off, while trying to get state exams, science fair and math fair projects done, study for tests and, oh yeah, figure out all their after school activities too. Seriously, I admire them for somehow not completely losing it. I'll keep everyone posted as to how the project is progressing. Wish us luck!

03:53 pm: Book
I have decided that I need to write a book about all the random AWFUL things that I've gotten on test and essay papers from students. Because some of the things I've seen are damn well near UNBELIEVABLE.

My favorites:
#3- Penguins live on the equator
#2- Antarctica is a state
#1- Ghandi wrote the Declaration of Independence (the kicker was, this was on OPEN NOTEBOOK test. I asked the kid whose notes he was using because they were clearly not the notes I gave him and his response was "I couldn't find it, so I wrote the first thing that came into my head.")

And the GRAND CHAMPION (cuz it does get worse)...
An 11th grader thought that Shakespeare was still among the alive and breathing. His reasoning? He held up his copy of Macbeth and said, "But the book is new!"

Anyone have any they'd like to share? Cuz I really need to hear whether or not it gets worse than this...

08:54 am: Me want sleep!
I want to know whose restricted phone number called my cell 4 times between 11:57PM and 1AM this morning, waking me up from a dead sleep. I answered twice and the person promptly hung up. Nobody wakes me up from a dead sleep and gets away with it!

Pick a fandom you know I know about, and I'll tell you:

1. The first character I first fell in love with

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't

4. The character I love that everyone else hates

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer

6. The character I would shag anytime

7. The character I'd want to be like

8. The character I'd slap

9. A pairing that I love

10. A pairing that I despise
